ITINERARY

Day 1: Depart from USA/Canada

Depart from the USA/Canada.

Day 2: Arrive in Budapest

Arrive in Budapest commonly known as the “Paris of the East”, the capital city of Hungary that straddles the Danube River, with the luscious Buda Hills to the west and urban landscape of the Pest to the east.  Find your own transportation to your hotel or you can choose the optional private airport pick up service ($120 / Person--Minimum to 2 ppl ). The balance of the day is at your leisure. 

Your tour guide will be in the hotel lobby to meet you from 5 PM till 8 PM to answer any questions. 

We recommend that you select flights which arrive no later than 4 pm on Day 2 of the itinerary, or earlier if possible.

Day 3: Budapest

Today you have free time to explore Budapest on your own or you may choose to join us on a comprehensive optional guided tour of Budapest during the day and a romantic cruise of the Danube during the evening. 


Optional Tour: The Splendor of Budapest (Day-Tour): USD 109 / Person:

Our optional begins in Pest the Eastern portion of Budapest, known for its rich and lively culture with numerous rustic pubs, historic attractions and unique European distinction. The first stop is the [Heroes" Square]which is home to the Seven chieftains of the Magyars and the Memorial Stone of Heroes. The square itself is often referred to as the center point of Budapest due to its’ historical significance which makes it the ideal first stop for our adventure. The optional tour will then cross the Danube and into the Buda Hills the western portion of Budapest. The UTOvacation"s optional tour will focus on highlighting the incredible scenery while discovering some key landmarks. The panoramic views of the city will be on full display with the first stop at[the Royal Palace]followed by a stop at[Matthias Church]and then[the Fisherman"s Bastion]. In the afternoon, the tour will journey to[the Parliament], then to the largest church in all of Budapest the legendary[St. Stephen"s Basilica]. The Splendor of Budapest’s optional tour will culminate with a walk through the historic[Great Market Hall]where you explore hundreds of unique merchant stalls and endless shopping opportunities.

In the evening, you and your fellow passengers are invited to join us as we embark on a dinner cruise on the tranquil Danube river. Here you will not only enjoy a delicious regional meal, but also gain a greater appreciation for the history of Budapest.          

Day 4: Budapest - Vienna

On the fourth day, you will depart Hungary and enjoy a scenic tour across the countryside of Austria to the “City of Music” Vienna. This metropolitan of nearly 3 million inhabitants is widely considered a cultural epicenter of Europe. UTOvacation is proud to offer an experience in Vienna which is catered to those who are not only interested in the various UNESCO cultural sites but also those who are interested in its’ rich musical history. 

Upon arrival in Vienna, the tour of the city will begin with a drive along the Ringstrasse, also known as the “Lord of the Ring Roads” and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As part of your first day in Vienna, you will visit a variety of culturally significant attractions including [Hofburg Palace], [the Opera House], the monument of Empress Maria Theresia, [Votive Church], [City Hall], [Parliament], [St. Charles" Church], the monument of Johann Strauss, [the Natural History Museum], and [Musikverein], the music hall of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. The final stop of the day will increase a visit to the [Schonbrunn Palace] the main summer residence of the Habsburg Rulers, located in Hietzing Vienna.

Day 5: Vienna

On day five, enjoy a day of leisure to explore Vienna independently. Revisit some of the attractions from day four or discover hidden gems of the region on your own. Find out for yourself why Vienna is known for a high quality of life and why it is often regarded as one of the world’s best cities to live in.


Optional Tour: The treasures of Vienna and Bratislava one day tour: USD 129 / Person:

Embark on a journey from Vienna to explore the captivating Schloss Mayerling and the serene Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz. Immerse yourself in the rich history of these locations as you venture inside the castle and abbey, discovering the architectural wonders and cultural heritage they hold. Following your exploration, take a leisurely break and enjoy a delightful cup of coffee in the charming surroundings. Indulge in the tranquil ambiance and savor the moment at a local café.

Your afternoon will begin as the bus crosses the Danube river, connecting the old southern and northern banks to the city of Bratislava, which is the political, cultural and economic center of Slovakia. The tour will pass through the medieval Michael’s Gate which is the only city gate that has been preserved form the town’s original fortifications. The next stop is the Old Town Square, which houses the Roland Fountain which was built in 1527 by Maximilian II. For a touch of contemporary art, the tour will stop by the recently constructed statue of a plumber lying on a manhole cover. Created in 1997 by local artists this statue has become a popular photo opportunity for thousands of tourists year-round. The final stop of the Journey into Bratislava is a visit to the St. Martin"s Cathedral: built in the 13th century, the church is a well-preserved example of ancient Gothic architecture. St. Martin’s rich history and stunning interior design especially its breathtaking stain-glass fixtures make for an unforgettable experience.

Day 6: Vienna - Prague

On the 6th day, you and your party will depart Austria and visit the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, the 13th largest city in the European Union and the historical capital of Bohemia.  Categorized as an “Alpha” global city and ranked 6th by Trip Advisor in 2016 as the world’s Best Destination. In Prague, your first stop will be [the Royal Castle District at Hradcany] the former residence of the Bohemian kings. Your next stop will be the historic [Charles Bridge] constructed in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV. The Charles Bridge crosses the Vltava River in Prague and offers some of the most scenic views in all of Europe.  Following your visit to the Charles Bridge, your journey will continue to [St. Vitus Cathedral]. This cathedral is a shining example of Gothic architecture and is the largest and most prominent church in the country.  The final stop of the day will conclude with a visit to the St.George’s Basilica. This Gothic-style chapel dedicated to Ludmila of Bohemia is the oldest and considered the best-preserved church in Prague. 

Day 7: Prague

Today you are free to explore Prague on your own, or you can partake on an optional day tour of the spa town of Karlovy Vary.


Optional Tour: The Town of Spas (Karlovy Vary) excursion: USD 129 / Person:

After breakfast, drive to Karlovy Vary, a spa city in the Bohemian region of western Czech. The city was established in 1370. Historically known for its hot springs, there are 13 main hot springs and about 300 smaller hot springs throughout the town. In the 19th century, Karlovy Vary became a popular tourist destination, especially known for international celebrities who visited for spa treatments. 

Karlovy Vary has 13 main hot springs, 5 of which are on the hot spring promenade called the Mill Colonnade. This neo-Renaissance building has 2 walkways, 132 meters long and 13 meters wide. There are 124 Corinthian cylinders. The 12 sculptures on the colonnade represent 12 months of the year. 

As part of your tour, you will visit the Park Hot Spring Corridor which is located next to the Dvorak Gardens. This cloister, which appeared in 1881, is a two bronze dome gazebo connected to each other by a white cast iron promenade. 

One of the truly remarkable elements of Karlovy Vary is the incredible therapeutic qualities of the water. The Karlovy Vary, Hot spring water contains as many as 35 kinds of minerals that are beneficial to the human body. The water temperature ranges from 41.2-72.2 ° C. Unlike typical hot springs, which are mainly based on baths, the hot springs here are also drinkable. Tourists often purchase hand made Glass containers during their stay in Karlovy Vary to use and commemorate their stay.
